SUMMARY:Baby & Child First Aid Course at St Marys Haddenham
DESCRIPTION:This 2-hour session aims to give you the knowledge\, skills and confidence to provide emergency first aid to your baby or child. You will learn how to perform life-saving interventions to make sure you are prepared for even the scariest of situations.  \nWho are you? \nYou might be expecting\, already have had your bub\, or even have older children! You might be a grandparent or an aunty who is looking after little ones. This session covers newborns to 18 year olds so it really is for everyone. \nWho are we? \nWe are Happy Hearts First Aid Training\, and we are all about empowering people through our friendly and relaxed sessions. We are mums\, so we understand what you are going through. We are health professionals\, with the facilitator of this session having over a decade of experience as a Registered Nurse and teacher. We know how to provide engaging content that is relevant and evidence-based. \nWhat will we cover? \n– Baby & Child CPR \n– Use of defibrillators  \n– Recovery positions \n– Management of choking \n– Febrile seizures \n– Burns \n– Head injuries \n– Meningitis and sepsis awareness \n  \nWe are still being Covid careful! \nWe have completed a detailed risk assessments on this venue\, and have put all the necessary precautions in place. Limited numbers\, hand sanitiser… just a few of our extra precautions. You will be invited to perform chest compressions on our manikins\, and each group will have their own manikin. Our trainer will stay a safe distance away and of course everything is cleaned thoroughly before and after sessions.  \nAs a former Registered Nurse\, infection control has always been a priority to Sammy.
